Cooling maintenance

Cooled doors

Per year

Check if flux is cold after doors. Use thermal camera to check doors temperature.

Encountered problems and solutions

Cooled doors

→ Out air flux is not cold.

  • Use thermal camera to ensure and compare with other doors.
  • Inspect water arrival and departure pressure if possible.
  • Check water quality and PH.
  • Determine cooled door heat exchanger material and inspect if galvanic corrosion is not occurring.
  • If blocked, dismount door and purge it. Have a special look on solid particles removed: color and aspect are important indicators to identify problem and prevent future fill.

→ Condensation occur on heat exchanger surface

  • Check water temperature and air temperature/humidity, report them in humid air chart and check, dew point is probably reached.

Humidifier

→ Humidifier is continuously running, or often running (causing electricity, water and maintenance costs)

  • Check room humidity with a different probe than the one dedicated.
  • Check room humidity regulation.
  • Check room air position on humid air chart, and check it doesn’t reach condensation point.
  • Check room sealing.

→ Humidifier is always/often asking for maintenance

  • See Humidifier is continuously running, or often running.
  • Check inlet water quality.
  • Have the equipment checked by a professional.

Air handling unit

→ Condensation occur on heat exchanger surface

  • Check water temperature and air temperature/humidity, report them in humid air chart and check, dew point is probably reached.

→ Compressor is used even with cold water supply

  • Check water valves are opened.
  • Check if probes values are coherent.
  • Check regulation
  • If air temperature regulation is too low, unit may use compressor to respond to this high cooling demand.
  • If humidity in room is too high, unit will condensate only and not lower temperature (i.e. high load).
  • Check internal pipes are not blocked by a fill.
